The Nabrzyski Lab at the University of Notre Dame works at the intersection of artificial intelligence, distributed systems, and trusted computing, with a focus on translating advanced computational research into technologies that serve people and institutions. Our projects span assistive AI for individuals with Profound Intellectual and Multiple Disabilities (VOICE4PIMD), uncertainty quantification and conformal prediction for trustworthy machine learning, decentralized identity and post-quantum cryptography, and secure cross-chain protocols for decentralized finance. Across these areas, a common thread unites our work: building intelligent systems that are reliable, verifiable, and worthy of the trust placed in them.

The lab collaborates broadly across campus and beyond, including through NSF CI Compass, the NSF Center for Quantum Technologies, and international partners. Our students work on problems that matter outside the lab — from edge-AI seizure detection deployed on low-power devices to blockchain-based provenance for critical supply chains — and our research has led to startups, patents, and technologies in active use by industry and government partners.
